mental patients should be able to determine here care to some level. if they have severe problems (going to impair themselves or others)that choice should be taken away from them. but always yes to a advocate or advocate. believe it or not nearby is allot of abuse within hospitals and group homes, they think who would believe a mental lenient, i can do what i want.
Only if they don't bring harm to themseves or others.
depends - are they competent to understand what is going on around them or are they totally on another planet
AS long as they are perilous to themselves or others! Let them do as they want.
If they are intelligent and not a danger to themselves or anyone else around them.
Absolutely!
if they are competant plenty to make that desision they do.it is up to the doctors and everything if they are.
Are they an full-grown? Are they still in the hospital or are they out. If they are out, afterwards yes. If not then they might enjoy to accept treatment until they vacate, then cry off it.
yes, human rights, any one has the right to filch or not any medication. It is not a constraint for counsel, the patient should be pre informed by facts of rights before demanding, why if client desires alternative medical should they be denied (classed mental) for an alternative or is self assessment recognised ? Yes demanding legal counsel or board if long-suffering requests should not be denied
