Reliable DNA carrying out tests?

My daughters father and I are doing a paternity test. Since he lives surrounded by NY and I in NH, we are doing a by e-mail one through a company called GeneTree. How reliable are these test. They reccomend that you send contained by the mothers DNA as well.how come? They necessitate the mothers DNA because they need to game your DNA to your daughter then doesn`t matter what is left have to be matched to the fathers DNA cos she will attain half from you and partly from him. Gene tree is quite a reputable company, try not to verbs. xx
Well, to explain the "why" could go on for chapter. Suffice it to say so they can accurately map the child's DNA and hold less guessing. If the DNA lab is ascribed, it is very accurate. Since most of the actual "work" is done by machines, within is little possibility for human error.
I do not live in the United States and so i dont know roughly GeneTree.
There are many methods to analysing DNA. Some include isolating certain parts of the genome which can be passed on. Others include testing for correct sequences.
Having the maternal DNA make things easier, but it really isnt necesary.
If a company asks for the DNa of both parents, i would be suspicious because it may mean they are using cheaper experiment methods.
I hope the mailing process go well. at hand is always a possibility DNa can be ruined or mishandled.
