yes, effexor xr is suppossed to be taken next to food and a liquid (preferably marine and certainly not alcohol :-) do not chew or crush the tablet. if the capsule can not be swallowed undamaged, it can be carefully open and the pellets placed surrounded by applesauce. this food/drug mixture should be eaten straight without chewing the mixture and drink dampen after eating mixture.
